Friends around Europe 2015-2016 eTwinning project 

The aim of the project is to encourage the use of English in a real context to communicate with students from other European countries (Romania & Spain).
As well as, promoting a cultural exchange among students, learning about Romanian and Spanish cultures and the way of life in the two countries.

The aims of our project are:
- Improving the students' level of English.
- Improving our students' self-esteem and opening their minds to be able to fight against any kind of discrimination.
- Making a cultural exchange among our students, learning about Romanian and Spanish cultures, their social and cultural values and the way of life in the two countries.
- Making friends with the students from our partner school.

The work process
The teachers involved in this project have thought to coordinate their students’ activity of writing email messages, using English as a means of communication.

The activities of writing emails will take place in the classrooms and/or the ICT labs, under close supervision of the teachers. They will take place each month during the school year.

Themes for the emails:
-Introducing themselves. Physical appearance, their family and pets, hobbies.
-A day at school. How they go to school, their school, school subjects, school day routine, after school activities.
-Christmas cards exchange. Sending a Christmas card to their penfriends.
-My Town. Location and description ( including some pictures, maps...)
-Festivals. Traditional celebrations and what people do during them.
-Free time activities. 
-Popular games and/or sports. In their school/region/country and their favourite sport or game.
-Favourite music/band. Their favourite kind of music/ favourite singer.
-My ideal holiday destination.

Expected Results: 
- Improving the students’ English 
- Improving our students’ self-esteem and opening their minds to be able to fight against any kind of discrimination
- Making a cultural exchange among our students, learning about Romanian and Spanish cultures, their social and cultural values and the way of life in the two countries.
- Making friends with the students from our partner school.

End products: 
- handwritten letters,
- email messages,
- powerpoint presentations,
- the project blog
- satisfaction questionnaire, for evaluation purposes
- photos

- drawings, etc

C.E.I.P La Costera, Alhama de Murcia. Spain.
